Why is Floating good for me?
Floating is a method used to experience the deepest relaxation available. The Gravity Free environment balances your body and rests all the senses, allowing the body to heal. Research has shown that floating reduces blood pressure, slows the heart rate and lowers stress related chemicals in the body. Aches and pains from old injuries are relieved because floating helps blood circulation. One hour of floating has the restorative effects of 4 hours sleep. Great for Jet lag.
What effects does floating have on the mind?
During a Float, your brain patterns are slowed. These Theta waves are usually only produced just before you fall asleep and in deep meditation. It can be accompanied by very clear creative thoughts and feelings of profound peace and joy associated with the endorphins released during this time. Because of these effects the floatroom is used for treatment of depression and addictions including smoking and alcohol. It is also used in Universities as tools for Super Learning.
Is floating successful for everyone?
Floating doesn't suit everybody. It needs willingness on your part to let go and see what happens. You may need to float a few times before you are able to relax completely, both physically and mentally. Depending on your own journey in life, a float might provide an hour of total physical relaxation - or a profound healing experience, emotionally and spiritually transforming. Floating can be a wonderful aid to opening doors into your inner world, gradually allowing access to those deeper levels at which real changes take place.
Will I get claustrophobic?
The Float - Room is the size of a small sauna with a flat bath at floor level. It has a light, which can be left on the entire float. The door can also be left open because the room is insulated and stays warm constantly. Music plays for about 15 minutes then goes off, but it can be left on the entire time. When it is time to come out, there are a series of small beeps and then the music comes on again.
How much does it cost to float?
At the Floatation Rejuvenation Centre, your first float is half price, $30. All future floating is $60 for the full hour. If you purchase 5 float sessions, you receive 1 free or 10 float sessions and receive 3 free.
The benefits are accumulative - the more you float the better it gets and each float is never the same as the next.
